What is a Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
DSM-5 criteria recognizes depression as Major Depressive Disorder when 5 of the 9 symptoms (depressed mood, diminished interest, change in weight change, change in sleep, psychomotor agitation/retardation, poor energy, fatigue, feeling guilty or worthless, poor energy, poor concentration and recurrent suicidal thoughts) of depression are present for 2 weeks along with signficant distress provided other causes are ruled out. Who will do the diagnosis and selection for the study?
Our psychiatrist will do full diagnostic evaluation and match with study inclusion / exclusion criteria during screening period and make final determination about study eligibility.
Who are the potential subjects for this study?
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you are 18 year or older and have MDD with current suicidal thoughts and needing hospital admission. You will stay on standard antidepressant treatment and take additional investigational medication as per the protocol.

What is Tourette Syndrome (TS)?
Tourette syndrome (TS) is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, stereotyped, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. Tics can be in any combination of motor tics such as eye blinking, facial grimacing or shoulder shurgging and vocal tics such as throat clearing, sniffing or making grunting sounds. Who are the potential subjects for thiis study?
If you are between 6 and 17 years of age and have diagnosis of Tourette Syndrome, you may qualify to participate in a clinical trial with investigational medication. Psychiatrist will discuss the allowed medications and protocol in detail during screening visit.

What is ADHD?
Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a brain disorder marked by an ongoing pattern of inattention and/or hyperactivity-impulsivity that interferes with functioning or development.You can lean more about the disorder at NIMH.

Who are the potential subjects for this study?
If you have a child who is between 4 and 5 years of age and has diagnosis of ADHD, your child may qualify for participation in a clinical trial with investigational medication. This medicaion is already approved and available in the market for adolescents between 13-18 years of age and in adults.

Schizophrenia is a chronic and severe mental disorder that affects how a person thinks, feels, and behaves. People with schizophrenia may seem like they have lost touch with reality. Although schizophrenia is not as common as other mental disorders, the symptoms can be very disabling. Typical symptoms are hallucinations, delusions, erratic behaviors, out of touch from reality, disorganized speech and poor self care. Schizophrenia is more common young adults.
